Are all the remote cylinders the same for lettered A B and G? Have a chance to buy one from an A and I have a G. Thanks
John

John,
You should be just fine as long as you don't use it on the 20 series up. Those letter series cylinders were low pressure and use on something like a 620 will blow the overpressure solder out of the large hex head cap screw behind where the hose screws in on the cylinder.
Been there! Ha! Ha!

John, there is a way to change the oil flow to the cylinder inside the powr trol. If you think the cylinder is working too fast for your application on a 3" A cylinder you can remove the 2 large plugs in the rear of the box and see if the check valves are set for the fast flow or the slower flow. This procedure is explained in the I&T Shop Service manual for John Deere. Any cylinder should work on your G if lift capacity of the cylinder is not exceeded.

There were three different mechanical stop remote cylinders offered, each for the B, A or G. The G cylinder of course was the largest and had the highest lift capacity. All three will work on the G but be careful not to overload the smaller ones as they might fail and the repairs are a bit expensive.

I used a 3" cylinder supposedly from an "A" for years on a "G", worked fine. I wouldn't be concerned unless the cylinder wouldn't lift your implement.

No I don't think so -the 'B' has a 2 1/2 inch bore and the 'A' has a 3 inch bore and the 'G' has a 3 1/2 inch bore, but they all might work on different tractors I just don't know- but some body will tell us! morgan

They may be different, but my grandfather used the same cylinder on his A, B, and his 70.

Had to add MN on Loren as there are more. We used the same lift cylinder on the "B", "A", "50", "60", "730", "3010", "3020", and "4020".
