Hello

I just bought this tractor and it was probably sitting. The brakes have no pressure and go all the way down when pressed. I don't see any leaks, the hydraulic fluid is full, the 3 point raises and lowers fine. I do hear the bubbling from inside the rear axle when pressing on the brakes. I have tried to bleed the nipples on top of the rear axle while pumping and holding the brake pedal but after 1/2 hour there was no improvement of pressure even though some fluid did gurgle out. Can someone help me out? Thank you.

Seth,,,

And if the bleeding procedure as mentioned works, but after sitting awhile the problem reappears, then the brake seals are most likely faulty...have to remove axle housings to repair.

in order to bleed the brakes, the brake valve reservuir must be filled. normally,it is filled through an orifice in the hydraulic supply circuit. you should run the engine for a few minutes in high rpm in order to initially fill the valve, and keep the engine running while bleeding. bleed one side at a time: depress the pedal with the bleeder nipple open and release the pedal with the bleeder closed. wait a while before depressing again to let the oil fill the cylinder in the valve housing.
it is a good policy to remove and clean the bleeders.
if you still have a problem, check the reservuir for correct oil level by removing the right footrest and opening the plug on the top of the valve.

Hi and thanks for the help. I finally got the brakes to have pressure but it didn't stay that way for long. I guess the fluid is leaking into the axle and the seals need replaced. Any ideas on the difficulty of this repair

Seth...
