Does anyone know if a 70 gas manifold will fit a G? I don't think it will. I figure it would be easier finding a used gas manifold off a 70 for my G without buying a new one

Jim G, you would have to change the head to put a 70 gas manifold on you G. I havn't tried it but will someday, I have a 70 all fuel head that I am planning on using, what I have heard it will some out the G a little but mine runs good the way she is. John

Jim,
Don't know if it would match up to the cylinder, but suspect it won't. Even if it did you would have to use a 70 carb(duplex) to fit the manifold. Then you'd have to figure a way to get from the duplex carb to the air cleaner which was designed for a single bore carb. Also there's the issue of getting the governor to work correctly. Maybe you could do it with some custom made parts, but an easier, better solution would be to find a gas manifold for your G. New ones(reproduction of course) aren't that expensive, you can use your existing carb., and it's a bolt on set-up. If you are considering this change, you aren't concerned with originality, so it really doesn't matter where your parts come from. Gas manifolds do make a difference, especially when idling(much smoother) on our rotten no lead gas. Good luck, Paul
