I have a 1020 john deere gas. it is operating in the red temperature wise. the bottom radiator hose is sucking together while running then goes back to normal when shut off. any ideas.

Sounds like you have some sort of obstruction in the cooling system. I'd let it all cool down then see if you could flush it out to improve things.

Had a similar thing on IH 454, turned out to be rad core clogged. Had to have rad high pressure steam flushed.
The water pump would suck the bottom rad hose flat. The last replacement lower rad hose that I bought had a coil spring inside the hose to keep it from collapsing.
