Does anyone make a clutch brake lining that rivits on like the O.E. for a B john deere? All the ones I can find are steel backed and crimped on. I don't mind doing the rivits since I have to take the clutch brake off anyway.

Thanks,

Joel

I have a new lining in the package to be installed when I have time. It is a genuine JD part in the JD bag and has part number R89780. It has six rivets with it. It is the lining only.
Bought it from the JD Dealer 3 or 4 months ago.

Your local clutch shop can sell you the material and rivets. We had them re-line the brake band for a "D". The clutch shop did it for about 1/3 of the cost of the JD replacement part.

Joel, just talked to my JD parts man, and he's not sure but thought the R89779 was a sub for the B166R, (lining only),and the clip on part num is RE2790, but here's the catch, the bare lining is higher priced than the clip on, making me think he's wrong on this.
But as you asked, just take the lining off clip on and rivet to your's as I don't trust the info I got.
Good luck with it Joel,
Bob

I WENT TO AND INDUSTRIAL BRAKE AND CLUTCH SHOP HERE IN CINCINNATI AND THEY GAVE ME THE MATERIAL AND THE RIVITS. I HAD TO DRILL HOLES AND TRIM THE MATERIAL WITH A HACK SAW WHICH WAS EASY.

Joel, I get from my John Deere dealer. Your dealer can get you the clip-on type or the OEM type that comes with the brass rivets. The part number for the one on my unstyled B is B166R.

I checked with my local dealer and they show B166R is obsolete and superceded to the R89779 which is the clip on style. I wonder if the rivet pattern is the same, if so I could drill the rivets out and rivit it to the arm?

I checked my part and it has #R89779 on the still sealed up bag. It is the OEM type pad, not the clip on. I bought this a month or so ago so it's current.
