I ve got my b torn down and have one rod brg that the babbit has started to fleek away and is tissue thin. Ive looked through archives and dont see any posts about machining unstyled rods for insert type bearings has anyone ever done this? Also can anyone recommend a good REASONABLE babbitting service?

I can stand corrected, but I believe all the B's were 2 inch. I know my uncle had a 44 B and we put inserted rods in it, and I have done same in 3 late model B's. The inserted rods use the self locking nuts and no cotter keys are used.

I think you could use 50 inserted rods. The crank throws should be 2 inch.
