The 2010 I bought back in April has until now performed flawlessly. It pulled the drill on 12 acres of oats and has mowed in excess of 100 acres of hay but.... The other night when I was mowing it started acting up missing at any engine speed over 1400 rpms. I thought at first it was a fuel problem and flushed, cleaned and blew everything out short of taking the carb off. That didn't help. It must be a spark plug problem so all the plugs were pulled and cleaned. The plug in #4 cylinder appeared a bit dark. This didn't help so a new set of plugs was purchased which didn't make a difference either. Dad and I messed with it again today and came to the conclusion that #4 cylinder isn't firing at higher rpms. It fires fine at an idle plus a little. We've tried different plugs, wires, and cap to no avail. We also checked the compression and it's right 125lbs just like #3 and is just what the manual says it should be. We hooked a spare plug into the wire to check the spark when it's running and it's got a good hot spark at low speeds but as speed is increased the spark becomes erratic and or absent. The points are near new, are gapped correctly and look fine, the cap is also near new but we also tried a cap from the 552 Oliver which runs fine and got the same results. The only thing that hasn't been replaced is the condensor and it's getting replaced tomorrow. Anybody have a possible diagnosis to this problem? We're stumped.

I would change the points along with the condenser as they could misfire at higher rpm.
