Im new to the JD tractors, was wondering on 820 on far right side on dash is small button, I&T manual says its fuel guage switch, what is it and what does it do? Also what is proper way to shut off pony motor, shut off gas and let quit or is there a switch and shut off gas? Thanks for the help. Jim

Jim, on the Deere 2-cylinder diesels there is no ignition switch that has to be turned on to start the diesel engine [just the pony] so the fuel gage is powered from the generator output.... That means there has to be a way of momentarily powering the fuel gage until the diesel is running & charging so Deere added a momentary push button to power the fuel gage prior to starting the engine so the operator could push the button see how much fuel is in the fuel tank..
~That 820 should have an automatic oil pressure controlled pony fuel shut off so nothing really has to be done but shut the pony ignition switch off.
