Mike M---I wrote you a follow-up on the lead washer placement on the oil lead passage washer, don't know how this system works so I thought I'd send a reminder.

For Mike M or ANYONE,
I have limited experience when it comes to head gaskets and don't know what I can get away with when it comes to combustion, and water leaks.
My question concerns removing the center stud nut, and correcting my mistake of placing the lead washer next to the head, and than retorqueing the nut back to the 96 ft lbs. OR, Should I install a new head gasket and start over???
The engine has never been run with the gasket that is presently installed.
Need advice on the best way to ensure "NO LEAKS"
Thanks--Jim H

I would think that if all the nuts are tight I don't see a problem with looseing only one fixing it and than torque it .Since it hasn't been ran chances are after it is run you should retorque all the nuts and you should get some more on them.
