I am looking for a single 16" for my 39' H. I saw in green magazine last month the mounted style. I have a customer who has one for sale. It is the trailer style, which I am rather positive I have to use. Am I correct in assuming a mounted plow for the H has to have hyd.? I have never seen a plow on an H before. Thanks Joe. Also he's asking $200, is that fair if its in good shape? Thanks Joe

Joe:

I had an "H" years ago, and it did not have hydraulics, and I had an "H-1" plow on it. It raised with a lever. The moldboard sat pretty close to the rear tire, and it was great in a tight garden area. I wish I had it now.

Hey Frank,

I just noticed that your signature is longer. 70D....855....VAC....whats this? A Cub? Uh oh, another project?

Brandon,

If you go to Frank's website (link above) there is a nice writeup on the CASE VAC he is restoring.

(Frank....nice article by the way. Can't wait for the conclusion.)

Brandon/Fred:

Thanks for the nice comments. I'm working on some more to post about the Case. I have to say it is a mighty handy tractor, but it sure doesn't ride as smooth as the '70'!

I found a '48 Cub that is stuck and troubled, but not too far away in Florida from me. I haven't got it home yet, maybe in a month or so. My maternal GrandDad bought a new Cub in '48 and he used it to garden about three acres. I used to drive it as a kid, so I thought it would make a nice one to work over, use in my garden, and renew some nice old memories.

I'm not really a collector, because I really enjoy using them after they're "done". What I'm after in terms of different models, is to collect the major models we used on the farm, so I'd still like to find a '48 "A", a 4020D, and maybe an "H". My paternal GrandDad was a diary farmer and had a '36 "A", '40 "H" and later a '52 "A", so we'll see how far I get. I'd also like to do something with the Dubuques, since I've never worked around those models. Maybe a nice '40'.
