Looks more like 177 hours on a restoration than original. Just too many things wrong; not quite right. I asked seller for more pictures, especially of the serial number plate as that is pretty telling as far as condition goes. Haven't gotten them yet.

That's a awsome deal, if the seller arn't lieing about the hours. When you see the final bid, post it!

The original hour meter on a model R was analog, not a digital meter. Also 1952 model R guages are white face not black.

Shouldn't the gauges, amp, temp, oil be white faced if original ?

How about the Chrome headlights, hole in hood on
left side,decals misplaced,tires don't match,
voltage regulator painted green, dash light painted green.

That's 177 hours on the meter in it now, said the meter was replaced. It is a repaint, rust hole in hood painted over, decal in wrong place, choke knob painted black, fresh wax not wiped off. It looks like a decent tractor, but it aint all that.Caveat emptor!!!

Jim, They may be telling us what they were told and I sure would not say it is an untruth. I agree it is the best looking original R I have seen. I would question the value someone put on it. The other thing I would want to know is why the rear tires are mismatched. I can see cutting a tire and replaceing it but both tires look to have more than 177 hrs. on them. Thats 4 1/2 weeks of running at 40 hrs. per week. I hope they get a good, fair, price for it. I think the real experts will show what it is worth when the auction end.

It's probabaly allready bringing too much.Plus who's to know who's bidding, his friends, neighbors, himself ? E-Bay's totally anonymous that's why the scammers love it.

Never knew an R would be worth 67,000.00 appraised. If thats the case I will sell mine for a third of that and be happy. Story sounds a little out of wack, but who knows??

I didn't look at the ad or the tractor in question but, whenever I hear about an older tractor with low hours I think hour meters can easily be replaced and those hours are for the meter and not the tractor.
