A local guy asked me to work on his 730, I am not sure if its a gas or diesel tractor, havent went to look at it yet,, he says it is getting gas/fuel in the oil,, any ideas? I have not messed with this model before,, on a gas version does it have a fuel pump? Any suggestions on what it might be either on a gas or diesel,,,Thanks,,,Jim

Jim:

If it's gas and has the oil pressure controlled fuel shuit-off assembly, there's a good chance the diaphragm is shot and it leaking fuel back down the oil pressure line and into the crankcase. I think you can disconnect the oil line and watch for drips to confirm. It has no fuel pump.

Post back if it's a diesel. There are other places for those to dilute the fuel as it has no oil pressure diaphragm arrangement. On those you look for loose injector lines, bad fuel transfer pump seals, drippy fuel rack/pumps, etc.
