Joe,I have to agree with Dan. I've got a 1952 styled AR & it has a waterpump. Going by my parts book, the waterpump was installed at Johnny Deere starting at seriel # 281400 for the AR & #700200 on the A's Hope this is of some help!!

Joe, There are a few other things I can tell you about the 53 AR. For one the engine is the same as the 60 except for the carb. The live hydraulic pump is the same as the 60. It should have black face gages. I have owned one for 4 or 5 years.

Styled AR's were built from June 7th 1949 serial #272000. To May 6th 1953 serial #284074. Some overlap there as rowcrop 60's were built from March 12th 1952. Standard chassis 60's which were improved AR's were built from August 1952. Front axle was changed, duplex carb and live pto.Still no rockshaft or power steering. Not 100% certain about the timing of water pumps being added to later lettered series tractors and "A" vs. "AR" with water pumps. A look through the parts book would be worth while. The AR was certainly a step up from the "A" by having live hydraulics.

Joe, Yes they where factory equipped with a water pump and live hydraulic. I could tell you the exact serial number they started at if I were at home.
