Did John Deere manufacture the model 730 in the year 1957? Did it have a gasoline pony engine that was used to start a diesel engine?
Thanks.

Jim, just wanted to add a little to what F-I-T had to say. The first 730 to be shipped was a gas, serial number 7300007 on 7-31-58. It was built in 1958 but is considered a 1959 model. The first diesel with a pony (starting engine) was 7300004 that shipped 8-4-58. They did make the 720 diesel with a pony in 1957-58.

Jim:

You have every thing right but the year. The 730 was produced in '59 and '60, and the diesel was available in electric or gasoline engine "pony" start.
