I was recently the subject of an email posting on this board. The man, whose name is Dale Jones from TN, posted the following....

Posted 2004-07-18 at 20:17:40
Contact: Not given Located in: Not given, TN, USA Wanted: WARNING-- DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM JIM-- IN BROOKLYN, CT---WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY AND NOT RETURN IT

While I acknowledge having a deal with this individual, he broke it when he did not pay me for a tractor by an agreed upon date. He knew and agreed to pay me in full for the tractor and failed to abide by our contract. I think everyone this day and age is aware of contracts and the penalties attached for failing to live up to them. Mr. Jones penalty was forfeiture of the deposit, which in this case was $500. Mind you, this deal was over a year ago and he now wants to air out his frustrations. Also, he can't even list his name and other information for all to see in his initial posting. I have done so seeing I have nothing to hide.
Sorry to have to post this for all to read but I felt I needed to clear the air seeing he decided to cast the first stone. This is a great website and board and is not a place for this. I will still enjoy reading it and posting ads to keep the hobby alive.

This sounds like somebody's wife told him he couldnt have the tractor after he made a contract to purchase it and he didnt have the integrity to be honest with the seller. Pretty typical these days for someone to play the victim and not accept responsibility for their own actions or in this case, inaction. Sorry, no wrongdoing on the part of the seller this time!

I suspect this is another forgery of Clooney's name.

Thanks for your contribution Clooney. You live next door to Mr. Jones? Jones stood me up on sending me full payment twice (telling me the check is in the mail). So we agreed on setting a due date. That date came and went. If the man couldn't afford the tractor, he should have said so. I could have sold it to another man who was eager to buy it with the cash waving in my face. But I held it for Jones and then lost the sale to the other man as well. (So much for doing the right thing!)

Jim - I doubt very, very much that Mr. Clooney posted that comment. We have been having trouble lately on this board by some kid pretending to be one of the "regulars" on this board, and posting idiotic or rude comments.

By the way, based on what you say, I think you were fair, allowing the purchaser ample time to get you the money. I have purchased dozens of tractors, each time "overnighting" a bank check to the seller.

I was a bit surprised by the Clooney posting as well. I talked to this guy in NY at the EXPO last year and he was real nice. The posting seemed a bit strange and out of character for him. Thank you for your other comments as well. I have had some direct emails from others telling me the same thing. I can't make them post their feelings on this site though and haven't asked them to do so. Thanks again Jon.

Grzesiak Imposter!!! in reply to Jim Grzesiak, 07-30-2004 09:30:00
I think this might be a Jim Grzesiak imposter. He has a different IP Adress than the Jim Gresiak above. Now I think we have at least two imposters!
