I'm trying to install my front wheels on the 35 A. The problem is the threads are worn down almost flat on the spindles. I'm thinking of using a castlenut that has a locking bolt going through it in addition to the cotter pin versus the regular castlenut without this clamping bolt. Will this work or is there something else I could do to ensure the castle nut stays on spindle?

1951G, it depends on how bad the spindle threads are..

I have done want you want to do many times & usually first run a die over the existing threads to straighten them out & stand them up a little..

As long as the pinch nut tightens down enough to hold tight & not spin free when the pinch bolt is tightened it will hold & work good for you..

Thanks Clooney. I'll try that and see.
