I"ve got a nasty little oil leak which need sorting. It is leaking from the pony motor exhaust pipe where it goes into the manifold for the main engine. The leak is at this joint and is running back along the pipe and dropping onto the engine block underneath. Is there a seal at this joint?

John, before worrying about that oil leak get your pony running on all 4 of it"s little cylinders.. Those pony"s pump oil like crazy if ALL the cylinders aren"t working..

If after you get that pony pulling on all 4 & use it for a while you still have oil weeping from the exhaust joints make sure the pony oil level isn’t too high [a major reason those pony’s pump oil].

If neither of the above help the oil weeping problem then pull that horizontal pony ex pipe & use a smear of Walker Exhaust pipe sealer inside the joint & on the OD of the pipe then slide it back together.. If the pipe is a real loose fit [some are] use a tapered metal rod or long drift to enlarge the pipe slightly so it is a tight fit..

If it still leaks oil you either have a real oil pumping worn out pony or the pony muffler is clogged with old oil & carbon residue..

Before I rebuilt my pony, it had a bad case of the slobbers. I use permatex high temperature sealant. I can't remember the exact name, but the stuff is orange. Clean everything up real good and that stuff will seal it up tight.
