I am looking at a 435 John Deere Diesel with new tires that starts and runs good with Power Steering and 3 pt. Has anyone seen any sell recently or have any idea what its worth.

I bought one about 3 years ago and paid 3500 for it, If you.re not going to buy it let me know as I am interested in it. Have restored about 10 of these tractors over the past few years. Neat little machines. Thanks

I am not a 435 expert, but think that they are a real neat machine. With PS that would be a really great machine. Some people are afraid of the 2-53, but that is probably the easiest thing on the tractor to get parts for, just get them from a Detroit Diesel dealer, not a JD dealer. Also there are lots of upgrades that will allow them to be started at temps below 50º. This was a very popular engine in all sorts of equipment and there are lots of people out there who are experts on the Detroits and can really make them purr. The oil leaks are for the most part caused by seal and gaskets not being correctly tightened, usually too tight. As for the scream, I LOVE IT!!!! We have a fire truck with a 6V92TA set at fire service specs. Governor set to about 2500 RPM, now that really screams, especially with very little muffler. Go for it, the price seems cheap to me.

The power steering really helps on the value. I would think if it runs good and decent shape it ought to be somewhere between $4500 and $5500. Possibly more. I have one without power steering and I think it is a super little tractor.

Some people won't pay a dime for the 435 as they dislike the 2-53's scream, oil leaks and say it's not a real Deere. Around here they run similar to a 320's price.
