It appears as if my B is of the variety with the pop-riveted brakes?

Can I re-pop-rivet them after I rebuild them?

I've never pop-riveted a thing before.

Thanks in advance,
Joe

Joe MD -
You can re-rivet your brakes, just as G-MAN said. One thing on the earlier model shoes for a "B" is that you have to saw off a portion of the shoe for it to fit back into the brake drum. (At least I had to). Take a look at the length of the old shoe vs. the new one to make sure.

Those are a little different breed of rivet than what's used in a rivet gun. They should be brass and it will take a rivet press to do the job right and quickly. It might be possible to do it by hand, but a rivet press makes it easy. Most machine shops or clutch & brake shops have a rivet press and won't charge much to install new lining on the shoes. I did a lot of it on steering brakes when working on Cats, and even a lot the brake linings on the newer wet brakes are riveted on.
