I have a 4430 quad range that goes into gear fine in all gears except reverse in A&D. What happens is it grinds and usually does not go in. When it finally goes into reverse after a second or two, it jumps back out when I let out on the clutch. Any of you guys got any suggestions on what it might be?

Just another thought -- quad range doesn"t have reverse in the D range, only A-C

Linkage needs adjusting. The Sound Gard Body mounting biscuits are probably losing some of their height and this affects the shift linkage after all those years of service.Remove the clevis pin on the linkage.Wiggle the shift lever until you feel the detend fall into place and then adjust the linkage where the lever lines up where it should in the cab on the selector.
