I'm wondering if there is any resources to find tractors for sale. I am located in central NC and am looking for an old John Deere. I am considering an A,B,60 or a 40. I know they must be out there but can't find too many for sale. Thanks!

Thanks for the input! I hoped to find something in the $2000 range. I would like a model that I could equip with an aftermarket 3 pt. hitch. I hope to be able to use it to bushhog, scrape the driveway but mostly as a toy. I appriciate any input or advice.

I don't see a lot of the early numbered series for sale here in NC. Lots of B models. I bought my 50 from a guy in VA. Found it in the classifieds section of this site. Also look at the Photo Ads on this site.

Another good resource specific to NC is the Agricultrial Review. This is a free publication which also can be viewed on the following website:

Look in the Classified section and then go to the Farm Equipment section. I recall seeing a John Deere model 50 for sale this month. The 50 superceded the B model. This is what I have and I'm very pleased with it.

Best of luck,
John

Hey 730-LP, I tried to email you but I think you gave me the wrong address. I might be interested in the '51 B.

Look on the left side of this page and try "Photo ads" and "Classified ads". You can watch Ebay also. Look for a collector or club (any brand) and they may be able to help find one as they buy and sell often. I would suggest you take your time and not get the first one that comes along just becouse it's for sell. There are some nice ones out there if you take your time. In the photo ads search TODD. He is near Nashville Tenn. and his tractors are nice. Email or call him and see if he can help.

I have done business with Todd. He is a good guy to deal with. He went WAY beyond what I expected to help me out. Can't say enough good about him.

Hey Dynabob. Didn't mean to ignore your posting. That is a little older than I wanted and a little more $ but I would like to see a pic if possible. I wouldn't mind considering it. Does it have hydraulics?
