Just so you know, there are no real figures on how many R/80/820/830 Rice Specials were made, just educated guesses. But as you could guess yourself, there weren't too many made. I haven't seen any prices at auction. If you get lucky, you could sneak up on one and buy it as a normal 830 (still not very cheap!) I bought my (I thought normal) 80 about 2-3 years back, and after getting it home, started fixing minor stuff. Went to work on the brakes and couldn't figure out why my brake drums looked strange, and I couldn't see the big center nut. After digging in the parts book, I found out they were rice mud guards, and discovered what I really had. Kinda neat! This is in Ohio, WAY away from Rice country where it was originally shipped. Got it for $4700, running, and in decent shape. Brandon My Industrial John Deere website John Deere Diesels The LaGrange Engine Club
