I am looking at buying a 420-C crawler 4 roller serial no. 127529. Any idea how much this weighs? Runs good and has rebuilt clutches and rollers. What is it worth with new paint? Any help is appreciated, Thanks Jim

The bare machine weighs about 4125# plus the weight of whatever dozer blade and lift are on it. Is it a JD 61 or 62 or an aftermarket unit? The machine is an '58model year, made in the end of '57. The first serial number for '58 is 125,001. This will have the undated final drives and clutch housings. Good machine!! Value would depend on the tracks, but given average condition and everything else being half decent and as you describe, $3,500 to $4,200 here in NH. Maybe more if #62 blade and tracks are real good.

Thanks much Peter. Is there an obvious way to determine which blade is on it? I did not see any markings; it is 7 feet wide. He's asking $5,900 which I am getting the sense may be too high. Jim

Thanks much, great site. It answered a few questions and more; looks like I need a manual to get more information.
