well do you have any adjustment left in the adjustment rails? if you do then you half take a cheap wrench an cut it an bend it over to get at the back nut very good. if you have the dozer blade on. if not then it isnt so bad. but you have to loosen the locking nut then screw the adjust nut in to slide the trck out, which will tighten the track.
if you have no adjustment left on the adjustment rail then you need to have the tracks rebuilt. you can remove a link but that will probably take to much out an then if they are that far gone you should rebuild them. then pins an bushing you have to get from john deere but there is a place in that you can get rebuild track for around 1500 with trade in of your of course. they are in ND. his name is lavoy wilcox 701 281 0398 or you can try randy who lives in letts IA he an lavoy are partners. his number is 319 729 5641 both of these guys are very helpful in crawler parts an question. when i did my 40 they were very helpful. johndeeregene
