Is there an aftermarket fuel pump for the 2030 die

Hello JD experts! I need a new fuel transfer pump for my 2030 diesel with the 4219 diesel engine. This is the pump that bolts to the side of the block and runs off a lobe of the cam (not the injector pump). I was hoping to buy one locally, but avoid the JD dealer. It seems like a common pump that would cross over to several different engines. However, when I go to the auto parts houses, they don"t have any application manuals that include John Deere tractors. Does anybody know of a manufacturer and part number for this fuel pump? Or is this a "dealer only" item? Thanks! Joe Stewart

you can try aftermarket supplyers like A&I.
john deere 'original' pumps were changed a few times over the years, so it's possible your unrepairable pump may very well be original.

Thanks for the replies. I guess my old fuel pump IS an aftermarket product, since the housing is all one piece (it cannot be disassembled for a rebuild). There's no manufacturer or part number stamped on the housing. I'll bring this pump to NAPA and see if they can cross reference it somehow. Joe Stewart

JD changed design for original and replacement taking off the glass bowl and making it not repairable. Can't tell by my information when that happened, but your pump could have been replaced once or maybe not.

Deere has a rebuild kit for that pump for only $16.50!

The complete pump is $62.00.

Yes, for the pumps assembled with screws, not crimps, JD parts books show a repair kit. Have you actually bought one lately? I tried last spring and it was no longer available.

Lots of tractor parts stores carry a claimed replacement. I needed about the same part (slightly different) for my 4020 gas last spring. I looked at one at JD and it looked like it would spray oil past the mounting flange that hadn't been machined. I wasn't willing to pay $56 for that unfinished part that promised to break if I didn't hold the nuts tight when I tightened the fittings. I went to NAPA (who did list a replacement pump) and other car parts places and bought an electric pump. It always makes for faster starts because it fills up the carburetor without taking all that energy cranking the engine just to pump fuel.

Its likely YT has a pump, as does value built (can't spell their name their way, Kim won't allow it) and I think Shoup (www.shoupparts.com). The main difference between a diesel pump and a gas pump is that the diesel pump has a primer lever that the gas pump doesn't have. The pressure may be different also, I don't have that information.
