I would be interested in buying it as is. Where is the tractor located?

Hi,

I have a JD1520 that I recently completed an engine overhaul on. It wasn't too painful with the replaceable cylinder sleeves. I had to make my own cylinder puller which consisted of a long bolt that screwed into a bar that was wide enough to catch the cylinder bottom. There's a little more to it that's hard to describe but it wasn't too hard to figure out and the cylinders pulled out fairly easy.

The cylinder liners were about $65 each from the John Deere dealer. (Don't forget to replace the O-rings on these cylinders too.) I don't remember the exact price for the pistons and rings but I think they were less than $100 each. So to do this for all 3 cylinders would be in the $600 range.

It sounds to me like your tractor would be in the $5000 range if it was running (maybe more depending on where it is located). So it would be a matter of how much of your 'free' time you would want to invest.

Hope this helps.
