My 2955 has an oil leak somewhere near the bottom side of the pump. I found one on my 4230 a couple of years ago in a small line that carried oil from the atmospheric side of a seal back to the main sump, but I can't find such a line on this tractor. Is there anything there besides the caps that hold the pistons in place?

It should be the same as our 2755. Look on the right of the hydraulic pump. There is a small case drain line made of plastic tubing. It connects a barbed fitting on the pump to the small reservoir located between the fuel tank and the radiator. The fitting is VERY hard to see and even harder to reach. Look at the exploded views on JDparts.com It will show the fitting very clearly.

On ours the plastic cracked and the case drain pressure pushed the line off the fitting. I simply cut half an inch off the line and pushed it back on the fitting.

I know a Jim Dunn is SW Manitoba. You aren't the same one are you?

John

Hello John,

Thanks for the input. I thought there must be a line to do just that but I couldn't find it. I'll surely check it out once the weather warms up a bit around here.

I live in Delaware.

Thanks again.
