Hello folks:

I"m wanting to modify some injectors for a JD 4430 engine for pulling. It is an early style 404 with the KDEL (Y-style) injectors and I"m wanting to move up to larger tips. I"d like ot switch to a larger Deere part such as injector tips off of their old V-8 engine. Were any of these injectors the Y-style or does this matter? Are they interchangable from KDEL and KDL?

Thanks!

John

Take your tips out and send them to Tim Engler in Princeton, IN. He can laser the tips out to flow more fuel. Give him a call. He does good work. Here is his website address.

Fella"s:

I"m running a stock inline A pump maxed out turning 3000 RPM. I talked to my local pump man and he has a set of injector tips (new) for the old John Deere V-8 engines and said they would be plenty big enough if they would fit my bodies but wasnt real sure how that would work. Did the 7520,8630, and others also use 2 types of injectors or not?

Thanks,

John

I have an inline A pump with 10 mm barrels and plungers, up/down cam engine lubed that flows 250-370 cc with fuel chart that has not been on a trsctor since picking up from Scheid Diesel.. Will sell for 1800.00 and ship for free. this would help give some better fueling to the tractor. let me know..

KDL (old style) were used on all 6030 , 7520 and early 404 engines) the 404's up to early 1976 tractors . My 4430 has a real early 1976 serial # 47512 , according to the engine ## they were changed a few thousand after mine . All 84 - 8630's and 466 engines as well as late 404's had the KDEL new style . KDEL(new style) tips will physically fit in the (KDL) old style body but they are positioned 180 degrees off (hald turn) really messes things up , spray pattern is wrong , won't run good , lots of smoke , no power and all that . Pump man told me they would fit , put 8630 tips in , WON'T WORK !!! Ran it only a couple hours so I didn't damage anything . That's when I found the 6030-7520 tips and used them . Original 4430 tip was 4 X 0.33 , 7520 tip is 3 X 0.43 .
KDL and KDEL will not interchange on the head , different holes and threads don't know or sure which is bigger or what . KDEL lines will not hook up to the old KDL pump either . Don't know a thing about the V8 system so can't you there .

There is a tip used on the 7520 or some industrial version of the 531 that will work , that is the biggest one I could come up with a few years back . I wanted to stay with the stock (oem) parts because they were cheaper . KDEL and KDL injectors are not interchanceable nor are their internal parts , tried that . They have different threads in the head , different lines to the pump , and the new style pump has different fitings . With the tips mentioned , 10mm no retard plungers and using the stock lines gives me 325-350hp , and goes down to 165-75 for farming , doesn't start worth a d!!m but didn't start too good when it was new . Any more hp than that will cost more $$$$$ . Remember HP=$$$
