I have an 430U With single Touch-O-Matic,The 3-point hitch arms jump and Will leak down when the engine is shut off. I have replaced the piston and head seals as well as the check valve and by-pass valve. What am I overlooking?

That little ailement when the lift jumps up and down is what I have named jinking.

I (through the school of hard knocks) think that may be attributed to two things. As I recall, I ran across that in the repair manual once and it said that the problem may be the control valve.

Mine junked bad before I took it apart for complete overhaul. Now it works show perfect, but I have not hooked it up to the 750 lb blade for the acid test.

When I had mine apart (it was a dual) I noticed that one of the check valves (if that is the valve that rides against the control valve) had a groove worn into it and the end of the check that rode on it was worn badly. I put a used control valve in mine and worked on getting the clearance set right between the check and control valve by coating the control valve with grease, inserting the check valve, running the control valve through, and then checking to see what kind of depth of grease was left on the control valve where the check valve was supposed to be clear of the control valve. As I recall there are tinsy little shims for adjusting this and they are different depending on the year of the tractor/lift - I bought the wrong ones first.

The simplier fix will be the theory that the piston is leaking down and then the system realizes it and resets it back up to where it was before. I thought that was it, but now I don't believe that was the cause.

Anyway, I wouldn't think the relief valve had anything to do with it since it only releases at the preset pressure and I would think it would stay released until the load was lightened.
