I would like to use the ball in the bed to pull my 5th wheel trailer. What's the recommended way to do this?

Thanks to all that replied. So far I've come up with the following brands: B & W, Milam Hitch, Cody Coupler, Colibert Enterprises.
Does anybody have any others or any pros and cons for these?
Again thanks for the input.

Jim, My buddy bought a newer Fifthwheel camper over a year ago, he too pulls a 24 ft goose neck and only wanted one hitch, (ball hookup in the bed of his truck). He found a place that has the gooseneck adapter, it bolted right to the camper in place of the fifthwheel hitch, Email me and I will get in touch with him to find out where he got it and let you know.

There is a Gooseneck adapter for fifth wheel travel trailers called The Milam Hitch call 800-810-8702 or 941-655-6669. Located in Lorida, FL.

I had my travel trailor converted to Gooseneck about 4 years ago. It took about 4 hours and is removeable if I sell the trailor. Requires cutting into the hitch box to add nuts and rewelding up the access hole. Can send you pictures if you like. Russ (jdman@aol.com)

Actually, there is an adapter that slips into the gooseneck of the trailer. Remove the 2 bolts and the hitch drops out and you slide the one you want in. Now, if your talking about a 5th wheel RV, that's another story. There is no adapter made that I know of. I am buying a new gooseneck trailer but I want the king pin like my RV. (Less people can ask to borrow it this way). The dealer I bought it from is not familiar with what I want so I got the tube dimensions, went to a semi trailer parts place and bought a weld in king pin. Picked up a piece of tube and welded it on. Any questions, give me an email and I can discuss this further.

Two ways to "pull" that off. 1st. Get a B & W Hide-A-Ball hitch. The removable ball can be replaced with a fifth wheel hitch that uses the same mounting hole as the ball. Works well, and lets you have BOTH hitches at any time. There is also an "adapter" available at most good trailer sales outlets, that hooks to a trailers fifth wheel hitch, and turns it into a "Gooseneck" style hitch. Between the 2, I'd favor the 1st one.
