bought one in 1979,a 74 model with quad range, was the main tractor for several years before the 464o was bought, used it on a 20:wing fold disc,4,18 plow, planted, sprayed, etc, had to overhaul it at 7000hrs,wanted the new style pistons, now it will start better has a lot more go at lower rpms, still use it to pull planter and sprayer, been a good one ,

The 4430 I have is the one dad bought new in 1976 , it and my 4630 were the main power then , pulled 5-18's , 21ft disk , 8 row planter ,grain cart , plowed snow in winter (had a Deere blade on front)snow blower on rear , and other lighter chore jobs like round baler etc . Last 15 years it pulls 12 row planter , 15ft no till drill , baler , spreader , etc and so on . Quit being the local snow plower , got tired of doing it for basically nothing and the tractor looks like H!!l from all the salt . Do some farm stock tractor pulling with it , did some pump and injector work on it will put out 300+hp when needed . It has 6500 hrs , engine except for the pump ,injectors and water pump hasn't been touched . It is a powershift , we fried the torshional dampner last summer , cost $450 in parts , did the work ourselves , that's all that has ever been done to the tractor .

Use primarily to cut and bale hay (5 x 6 bales) anymore, although I drag a 4 and a half yard dirt pan around some. Was never my big tractor, so it's never done any of the heavy tillage work. When I used to row-crop, pulled a 10 row no-til planter and also a do-all/grain drill combination. Bought it used about 15 or 18 years ago, been essentially trouble free.....
