My 730D pulls good but after plowing about an hour it will occasionally miss on one cylinder.

I had just had the injectors replaced and had injector return line gaskets replaced and thought this would cure fuel in crankcase problem but it didn't.

What should I look for at this point?

John, your problem could be almost anywhere..

~You could have a cracked injector line, loose line fitting, leaking pump or pump bracket gasket, leaking seal in the transfer pump, it could even be fuel getting past the piston rings from that missing cylinder. The good news is that most leakage points are visible with the covers removed..

~I guess the place I would start is to run the tractor until hot, then pull the valve cover & pump compartment cover, then start the engine & use a strong light & small mirror & with it running look for leaks at all the lines, injector pump bodies, pump gaskets & pump bracket.. You might also want to make sure the weep hole on the bottom of the transfer pump is open & not plugged.. If you can't find any leaks then maybe your transfer pump in leaking past the inner shaft seal but there is a weep hole on the bottom to bleed any fuel out on block so it isn't supposed to leak into the engine...

~If you can't find any obvious internal leaks then maybe your fuel in the crankcase is getting past that misfiring cylinder..

Clooney, thanks for responding.
I note the diagram in my service manual as to the layout of the pump and injector lines. I don't see a layout of the return lines from the injectors. Do they run thru the valvecovers and could be leaking as well?

John, your 730D should have a fuel rail pressure regulator/return but no actual return lines from the injectors themselves.. The injectors do have small [short] bleed off lines that just return to the head & bleed any "VERY SMALL AMOUNT" of fuel that leaks past the injectors into the intake area to be burned [those are not return lines though]..

Cloony,
Thanks for your very understandable post.
I copy and print out many of your posts and have a pretty good library of them. Thanks for your efforts.
