Serial number info. 1st four digits are the model number. 5th digit "A" for collar shift, Q for TSS with MFWD. 6th through 11th digit is the serial number. Last/12th digit is "L" if built in Mannheim. "T" if Dubuque

Engine serial number info. 1st is number of cylinders. 2nd through 4th is the cubic inch diplacement. 5th digit is D if a natural aspirated diesel. 7 & 8th digits is version. "06" used for Mannheim built 2240. 9 through 14 is engine serial number. 15th & 16th digts are CD if built in Saran France. "T" if built in Dubuque. Trans serial number info. Top row is trans serial number. 2nd row is tractor model. 3rd row is Differential Cone point adjustment in millimeters. 4th row is ring & pinion gear count. E.G. 43/9

It's genetic. My Mother was driving the 70D standard while she was pregnant. Found that tractor, bought it back and restored it.
