I recieved Pat Browning's John Deere "H" Restoration Guide this weekend in the mail, I thought I would glance through it real quick, well after the first two paragraphs I was hooked for the next two hours. It was very intersting and informative, wrote so you can understand it.
Even if you don't have an H you should own this guide because it pertains so much to all John Deere two cylinder tractors.

To All folks -- I listened to a man's tale of woe today that just should never happen to anybody. He had just put the finishing touches on a gorgeous, I mean GORGEOUS JD 630! He has a manifold-to-head leak that is now forcing him to take the engine back down far enough to remove both the manifold and head for resurfacing of the interface.

For those who read my book and follow its guidance, a full engine run-up test series comes BEFORE final painting of the tractor, and therefore obviously before installing those gorgeous-looking sheet metal parts. Most items of grief are much easier to deal with at this earlier stage. I know one's stomach won't hurt nearly so much! More later. (PatB)

Hi Walt -- Thanks for the great review. The book isn't perfect but it is interesting -- that was an outcome I hope for! To make initial contact for the book, others may write pat@jdhpubs.com and before long, this informative book will be on its way to you. Pat Browning

I have a 1942 H that eventually will be restored but currently is in fair condition. What is the cost and how does one order the book?
