Are the aftermarket parts for JD two-cylinder engines as good as new JD parts? I'd like to replace all belts, hoses, spark plug wires, and all tune up parts and am wondering if I should buy new parts from JD dealer or aftermarket. Any insight appreciated. Thanks.

It all depends what your buying. Do you really think Jd, Ford, NH etc. Make all their own parts. Some things are as good some are not...Jim

spend your money and take your chances. that's how you learn. then you won't be a newby . have fun & be careful out there.

What a great help. I"m sure the person is talking about the parts available here. I"d like to know too. I haven"t bought any parts yet--I just purchased a repro service manual. If that"s any indication, buy your parts from JD.

Ya what I siad didn't help him much other then to tell him to look them over I.E. if made in china probably not. I get most of my parts from a NAPA, or Oreillys auto parts store. The one I can't get there I get from JD. But JD doesn't always have them either then I use value bilt or this site.
