hello guys:

I"m wanting to use my JD 435 in the field but it doesn"t have hydraulics (wet lines). It has no power steering, no live pto, or the hydraulics. Just a three point hitch. I"m aware that some 435"s did come with a hydraulic system from the factory. My question is what all is exactly needed to bolt on a hydraulic system to this tractor? Are parts interchangeable from one tractor to another or is it only 435 specific parts?

All information is greatly appreciated.

John

4010

I think you could plum one up the same way that JD recommended plumming up the tractor for the #35 loader if the tractor did not have remote hyd.

All you need is an aftermarket open center hyd valve with its own pressure relief on it.

I put an aftermarket valve on my loader and it works fine.

Who knows maybe John Deere's middle initial initial was C for Cobbler because the books shows how to use pipe elbows and nipples to hook the #35b loader in the system.

If you are interested, I could try to send you a picture out of my #35 loader book. No guarantees up front since I have a new scanner and havn't used it yet.

Now I could be all wet on this ideaa for the detroit, but I am assuming that since you have basically the same touch o matic unit as the 420/430, somewhere on that buzzing motor there is a hydraulic pump that puts out about the same as a 420 or 430 - that may be the first thing to check into.

10 gpm gear pump driven off the engine's front left balancer or camshaft pulley.

The info is all in your 430/435 parts manual from Deere. The remote hydraulics and rockshaft for that matter, for the low pressure open center system. Is similar from the 40 through the 420,430,320,330,435,440 and 1010 up to serial number 42,000. A salvaged set is serious dollars for all piping, valves, linkages and the connection block. You will be in over a grand for the factory system unless you purchase and strip a salvage tractor. It's still cheaper than taking hours to cobble up a mess from spare parts and new off brand components. I've seen some real unhandy looking leaking home engineered messes. Tying into the odd JD fittings with none JD parts is tough.

So buickanddeere:

You recommend that I go find a tractor of that vintage in a salvage yard and strip everything off of it and install it on to mine?

I"m still unsure of this tractor. It was a state owned tractor at some time with a side mower on it ( as told by previous owner). I"m not sure if that was a sickle bar or a boom mower. Anyway it is yellow with the silver/black John Deere plates rather than the decals. It also has a mirror mounted on the hood to the rear of the fuel tank door that is molded directly with the hood. It has about 5000 hours on it and runs pretty darn good besides the leaks. I"m just wanting to run it more and without those hydraulics it is somewhat hard to do.

Thanks!

Johnboy

to get all the lines and mounting brackets the same, you will have to get a remote setup off a 420/430 W tractor.
