i just replaced the felt gaskets on the front wheels on my 52G about 2 weeks ago. i haven't run the tractor yet. i have a rear wheel off doing the same on the back. i glanced at the front and both are leaking by the new felt gaskets. I did put some grease on felt gaskets before i put them in. was i suppose to grease the new felts or put them dry? i guess the leak could be excess grease got hot in my shop maybe??

I put mine on with a coat of grease. Some times they seep when warmed up. Not sure if it is correct but they sure do slide on better and don't disfigure when installing.

The felts I used to get were factory impregnated with some kinda grease and it would squeeze out when assembled. BTW the book says to grease the fittings until you see grease come out of there about every 10 hours.
