What's a 1940 JD A worth? Running, old restoration, in shed, starts good, no knocks, good rubber, starter & gen removed? (I know--what a willing buyer will pay a willing seller--but gimme a hint?)

I bought my '41 A for $1150. Never restored but the tin was straight (except around the exaust stack) and it had good rubber. It also vibrated badly which I found out on this very discussion board was the clutch drive disk positioned wrong on the crank. If your tractor runs well, idles well, doesn't smoke much, and all of the other things work okay, I'd probably spend the $2000.

Saw a 48 "B" go for $1250. it was straight and ran good very little gear noise that was laborday weekend at auction. 6 weeks later the same tractor went for $1900. at auction It was the same tractor not one like it but the same the auctions were 150 miles apart. So it is a willing buyer aand willing seller that set the price.
