We have an early model 4020 Diesel with an M&W turbo. It was overhauled a couple of years ago and now the oil bath on the air cleaner keeps overfilling and leaking all over. We have asked people what is causing this and nobody seems to have an answer. We are not sure if it is something with the turbo or what? If anyone has any suggestions let me know.
Thanks

Block off the ventilator pump.(The small line on top)It is sucking engine oil out of the crankcase. Is that one of the older M&W turbos that drained the lube oil through a fitting welded into the vent pump? The later M$W turbos drained oil directly back to the oil pan for this reason.

There shouldn't be any way for the turbo to do that, even if it were leaking oil, as the airflow will always be toward the turbo. When checking or changing the oil, are you letting the tractor sit overnight or at least for a while to let all the oil settle down out of the filter media? With that turbo, the engine is going to be drawing in quite a bit more air than normal, and some of the oil out of the cup is likely getting sucked up into the mesh during operation. If you shut it off and check it, it might be pretty low. And then if you top it off and later the other oil gets drained back down, it's overfull and leaking. Just my two cents.
