After having read many books including manuals, I am still at a loss as to the models of 3-point linkages and the JD tractors they came out on. References are made to the 2000 and 2100 series tool carriers, the 800 3-point hitch, the category 2 hitch, a Universal category 2 hitch, the 801 and 801A and, I am sure, many more.
Pictures show, maybe, the later versions and those 3-pt linkages on the smaller tractors.
Can someone summarize the information regarding which tractor models came with which 3-pt systems, when and supply pictures to match, please.

the 2000 and 2100 hitches, known as Yakima hitches, were not true conventional three point hitches and required proprietary implements. They were made from around 1947 through the early 50's for the A, B & G. Then in 1953 JD announced two new hitches. A conventional three point hitch for the JD Model 40 (Category I) and later in 1953 the first of the 800 Series hitches, the model 800 for the G, 50, 60 & 70. This too was not a true three point hitch as Unique Mast Brackets were required on each implement. Then in 1955 intoruced a replacement for the 800 hitch, a model 800A and then a new model 80 which offered an improvement in traction. JD did not recommend using the 800 series hitches on the l;ate A & B due to their light front end although many have been used successfully on the A & B. Then when the 520, 620 and 720 models were announced they optionally with a fully conventional three point hitch with active top link. These carried on into the 30 sereis as well.
