My dad bought a 2010 new way back when. Not sure of the year. We used it all the time. Never had any problems with it. If it needs an overhaul, the 2010 has a different cylinder sleeve setup. I think all the sleeves come as one unit. Ours was just overhauled last year and I think it was a bit on the expensive side.

The 2010 was sort of a "hurry up" project to go with the new generation tractors. It ended up being some new and some of the old stuff. They seemed to have lots of problems. The diesels used glow plugs to start and it seemed the glow plugs didn"t last very long. I think the gasers were better. I have heard of a few guys who had one and loved it. I always liked the styling, but most people seem to think it was one of the worst tractors JD built. They are kinda cute though.

That is the same engine esed in the round back hi-lo 45 combine and a very good engine. My uncle had a row crop utility and for everything he put that tractor thru with no matainance and it was a deisel it did remarketly well. I drove it and other than I do not like a deisel it was not a bad tractor to use, my biggist complaint was lack of clearance between steering wheel and controls on dash as I ended hitting my hand many a time, now if it is a row crop it will not have that problem and right now I would like to have a gas row crop with a wide front end
