Im trying to take the wobble out of the steering and /or front wheels. Is the vertical play in the front shaft of much importance or is it mostly the sector and worm adjustment. I cant see where that would help any to shim the gear up or am I missing something. Thanks

I remove the sector gear and braze a little on the center gear teeth and cut off the extra braze and get it fitting and the slop is gone and you still have easy steering with a cheap repair, I have done 2 of my tractors that way and works very well

I had the same problem with my A, a New old stock sector gear, bearings did the trick. it has no wobble now and steers just like new. You will need to look at the eccentric bushing and also the steering worm but i betcha the sector gear will have most of the wear in the center teeth. Let me know what tractor you are dealing with and i know a guy that might have some of these parts, ebay has some of this from time to time

Trouble really comes when you have a worn casting and eccentric and shaft where they all fit together. When these are bad you can see the whole vert. shaft move back and forth.
