I got a 41 all fuel JD B for free from my grandfather. It didnt run at all and i have invested some money and have it running but I am not done restoring it yet. I was wondering how much it could be worth just running and how much if restored. Thank You Al
Also its options included pto, lights, power lift, and electic start.

I've seen asking prices up to 3000 dollars(that one had an anteater front axle). What they ask and what they get are two different things. Realistically, it's worth 500-1200 in good running but unrestored condition. That's what I've seen typical "B"s bring at auction.

When you restore it do it for your love and respect for your grandpa, not for the money because you'll never make a profit. Restoring anything but rare two bangers is a labor of love, not money.

Well, depends on how you look at. As an heirloom, it is priceless no matter how much or little money you put in it. As a piece of machinery, you will soon find that you will put in a whole lot more money restoring it than what you can get out of it. You can easily spend four to five thousand dollars on a full and complete restoration. The prices previously quoted are about right. You MIGHT get $2500-3000 on a completly restored B if you wait around for the right person to show up at your door, but you would probably have to wait a while. If it were my grandfather's tractor, I would keep it and restore it as money permits. Possibly take several years to get accomplished, but in the end it will be a piece of my history preserved.

Hard to say without seeing/hearing it but I'd say from $500 to $2000.

Easy there, little h. 41JDB probably isn't looking to sell. I'm not looking to sell my tractor, and it's just something I found at an auction and I wouldn't mind knowing what it's worth. Good luck JDB.

if you got it from your grandpa it should be priceless and i would not be asking how much it is worth.

Im not trying to sell but just wondering! in reply to little h, 01-17-2006 18:26:28
My grandfather died when I was about 8 and I am now only 18. I work two crappy jobs and go to school and have sunk a little over a thousand dollars in it just to repair the wheel, carb, and mag just to hear it run. It is still very dented and very rusted. Please give me a break as I was just wondering of the expected cost to know for personal reasons!
