sediment bowl leaking

I've got a fairly new sediment bowl assembly on my A. However, lately it's been leaking around the shutoff valve on the piece that screws into the bottom of the gas tank. I've tightened both of these 1/2" nuts where the valve is and it still leaks. Is there some type of packing that I should go back and put in there? Right now I've got a coffee can collecting the drips under it.

Mine was leaking on my A abd I thought it was the shut-off valve. Turned out to be the assembly itself where it screws into the tank. Check that if rebuilding the valve doesn"t work.

If you don't want to drain it all just yet and leave needle in shut off back the nut off and put some string or small rope packing or slit a o ring and get it under the nut to help push the packing that is in it now in tighter. Otherwise take it off and start over with packing.
