How many guys are going to the gathering of the green? I have never been but it sounds great. Just wondering if its worth the six hour drive.

I live in Woodlawn TN, which is about 50 miles north of Nashville. It is near Land Between the lakes and Fort Campbell KY.
We have a tractor club here in Clarksville and a show on Oct. 13 and 14.
Four of us are going up to the gathering of the green in Moline Illinois March 8,9, and 10. If you come ,hope to see you.
R

I certainly am planning on attending again this year. I have been to all of them and would not miss it. It has been nice to meet some of the good folks on this site. John and Duane, what days are you going to be giving your talks? I hope to meet up with both of you and Glen as well. If you make plans to get together some time count me in. Mike

It sounds like a great time. Im eighteen though and most collectors look at me a little goofy when I talk to them about old stuff or when I am looking for parts.lol It ought to be fun anyways.

41JDb,
I'll be there, wouldn't miss it. I have been to them all. I just heard this year since the focus will be on harvesting some folks from Canada will be bringing their grain binder and D, complete with the remote steering unit to drive the tractor from the binder. More than 60 vendors, 30+ seminars, factory tours, activities for wives, evening activities, etc. make this a unique event.

We have a room booked again this year but haven't sent the deposit in yet. It's worth the trip, took us 8 plus hours plus a border crossing. Maple syrup season falls in the same time slot. We will attend this year if the weather isn't running sap. The factory tours etc are worth the trip. So is meeting some of the characters from these sites. Some characters keep a low profile however at these events.

If anyone goes lets try and all meet up somewhere, maybe after the day time presentations but before dinner or the evening shows??? Many of us did the same at the New York Expo and a Two Cylinder Expo and we had a good time swapping lies.

They're keeping me fairly busy giving four Seminars or Round Tables but would be available most time for our own personal "Gathering" if anyone has some ideas.

John T Nordhoff, Cell (812) 272-4175, I have a room at Holiday Inn, dont know the number yet.

PS Anyone gonna be at the Florida Flywheelers in a couple weeks????? ????

I've been once and it sure was worth my 2 1/2 hr drive and most likely you'll think it was worth your 6 hr drive. Visit their website at gatheringofthegreen.com. I'm planning to attend this march.
