Thanks for all the info folks. For now, I have a temporary solution. After talking to the salvage people this morning, they are going to send a call tag for these pistons and send me another pair. Hopefully, the next pair will be more serviceable than the first. Relatively new to the antique tractor game, but learning fast. Takes a lot of patience and prudence. BTW: I am new to posting to the JD discussion group, but have been monitoring and soaking up info from it for the last year, since I got my first antique tractor, a 1955 JD 60. Since Nov 2004, I have accumulated a 1944 Case SC, 1950 McCormick W-9, 1936 JD D and 1937 JD B, both JD's unstyled. Guess you may say I got bitten pretty bad. Love all these old tractors and still have the urge for more. However, with a small stable like mine it is hard enough to keep them maintained correctly, plus play with them as much as possible.
