Starts and runs when wide open. Slow down and will run gas out the front end of carb and dies. Had a new float installed and worked very well for a couple of years. The problem started at once. The gas running out of carb. Looking for ideas?

Like Mark says its in the float or its adjustment and in addition the needle valve does not seat properly or has dirt in it. You can check the float adjustment externally by putting a fitting on the drain with a rubber hose, run the hose slowly up the side of the bowl until gas starts coming out. Mark this point and measure to the split line and compare it to the spec in the manual. If this is OK you know you got a problen with the needle valve.

With so many suppliers of carb kits the quality of the valve and seat may be inconsistant.

Good luck

Either a bad float again or rust and or dirt under the needle and seat.Take the small cap off the fuel inlet bowl and check for rust or remove the bowl and check to see if your float is full of gas.
