I guess the parts depot closed down a little while back. I just called my dealer and confirmed this. I saw an ad for the upcoming auction on March 30 2006

I sure hope this doesn't hurt the outstanding parts service I had in the past.

Ohio sure has took a big hit with job losses lately ! I guess this stuff is now coming out of Canada up by Niagra Falls area.

Hi everybody, Just to add my 2 cents, I am a Deere employee working at the Columbus warehouse until the end of April when we close the doors. I am transfering to the Syracuse warehouse while others are walking away. You are correct, all parts are out of the building and only empty bins, shelves and equipment will sell at the auction. Now I get to move my Deere "B" to New York. As for the Indianapolis warehouse, they are a non Deere warehouse located just west of INDY in Plainfield Indiana. They only ship the fast moving JD parts and do not ship rare parts used in breakdowns. Old non stocked parts still ship from Milan and other warehouses. Hope to see everyone on auction day in Columbus. NYDeere

Hi, I live 3 miles from the JD depot in Columbus - sad they are closing, they were there for 50 some years....who has an auction listing - what will they sell? Wouldnt they just transfer the stuff to another location?

They are selling warehouse items, shelving, cafeteria equipment etc., No JD parts, they have been transferred to other depots.

There are parts depots in Syracuse, N.Y, Milan, Indy, Atlanta, Regina, Dallas, Denver, Stockton, Portland & Grimsby. Probably a few more that I missed. Tom

Indy? Where? The Deere parts wharehouse was closed here about 30 years ago, maybe even longer. All those nickel and dime model differences coming back to haunt us.Too many changes and not enough commonality over the years.

When I look at what warehouse parts are coming from, half of the time I see "Indianpolis" on the listing. So I assume there must be a warehouse there. We get a lot of parts out of it.

They shook things up a while back, and at least for us, how we get and order parts has changed some. Now instead of getting freight every day from Kansas City and a big stock order every week or whatever - I'm a technician and not familiar with anywhere near all the ins and outs of the parts system - we now get a "daily stock order" or some such from Milan, IL. This means that instead of getting the part the following day, we get it two days later. Of course we can obviously still "machine-down" order parts overnight, and still do quite a bit of the time. I doubt you'll notice any big difference in your parts availability.

Minneapolis parts depot has been closed for some time. I can call my dealer in central Iowa and have anything I want in 2 days. I don't think you will suffer.

I always got mine the next day. 80 miles from Columbus. Pretty important when you are broke down and the dealer doesn't carry many parts.

It's the same or better service from canada and the local dealers like it better.
