I have a 1952 John Deere B. It knocks really loud, so I was told to try to tighten up the flywheel. Does anybody know how to do this? My IT manual doesn't really show how to do this very good. Any help would be greatly appriciated. Thanks

That knocking might be the rod bearings.

Loosen the two bolts that hold the flywheel tight on the shaft then tighten the large nut on the outer side of the flywheel to get the correct end play. Then tighten the two bolts on the flywheel. If this doesn't help the splines may be worn and need a taper lock assy.Ron Mn.
