I Have seen Mike"s work and talked to him at the gathering of the green and he does EXCELLENT work, but I figured I would try it myself and it worked and I saved $300 + teardown and reassembly. If you have the money take it to a pro but if you dont it wont hurt to try it yourself.

If you want it done right give Mike Williams a call 1-563-243-3023 in Clinton, Ia. He doe"s a realy fine job redoing the crankshaft splines. If you want to see his work go to my web page and look at the Cranshaft Rebuild tab. It cost about $300.00 to redo the clutch driver side of my 49" G crank.

My dad welded beads on the splines and I grinded and filed them back down to spec. A lot of people said it couldnt be done but it doesnt wobble and is very tight. I will post some pics of the process tomorrow as I have to get them from my work. AL
